Same but Different

Students find the connection between two things that seem completely unlike.

Trains associative thinking and gets students talking to each other with a low-stakes creative task.

Instructions

Write two seemingly unrelated words on the board (e.g. "rain" and "homework"). In pairs, students have 2 minutes to find as many genuine connections as possible. Share the most surprising one. Repeat with new words and new partners.
