Postcard from Me

Students write a postcard introducing themselves — then it's read aloud anonymously.

Written expression lowers the barrier for students who find verbal self-disclosure difficult.

Instructions

Give each student an index card. They write a brief postcard: three facts, a question they're currently thinking about, and one thing they're hoping for this year. Collect all cards, shuffle, and read a few aloud. The group tries to guess who wrote each one.
