Gibberish Interpreter

One student speaks gibberish, another translates live.

Separates words from expression — students learn that how you speak matters as much as what you say.

Instructions

In pairs. One person gives a passionate speech in complete gibberish — real emotion, gestures, the works. Their partner stands beside them and 'translates' into English in real time, making up what they think the speech is about. Switch roles. Share one pair with the group.
